About Van Cleef & Arpels Frivole Diamond Pendant Necklace in 18k Yellow Gold, Mini Model

A flower in full diamond bloom, barely bigger than a fingertip. Frivole at its most wearable.

This is the Frivole pendant in the mini model — reference VCARP24000 — with 25 round brilliant diamonds totaling 0.21 carats across three heart-shaped petals, plus a raised center stone at the flower's heart. VCA holds these diamonds to DEF color and IF to VVS clarity, the strictest standard in the business. The petals curve and lift off the neckline instead of lying flat, with mirror-polished gold edges framing the pavé — so the pendant sparkles in motion the way the maison intended.

Crafted in 18k yellow gold on VCA's adjustable chain with the signature clasp, signed and hallmarked.

Frivole sits alongside Alhambra as one of Van Cleef's permanent icons, and the mini pendant is the piece that gets worn daily and never comes off.

Van Cleef and Arpels Backstory

Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in Paris in 1906 by Alfred Van Cleef and the Arpels brothers — Charles, Julien, and Louis — sons of jeweler Salomon Arpels. The maison's Place Vendôme address remains its headquarters more than a century later.

In 1933, Van Cleef & Arpels patented the Mystery Set, an invisible setting technique in which precious stones are mounted with no visible prongs or metalwork between them. The technique requires hundreds of hours per piece and is still used today on the maison's most important high jewelry.

Across collections like Alhambra, Perlée, and Frivole, Van Cleef & Arpels remains one of the most distinctive voices in twentieth-century French jewelry.
