About Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra 18k Yellow Gold Bracelet, 5 Motifs Onyx

Five clovers. One of the most recognizable bracelets Van Cleef & Arpels has ever made.

The Vintage Alhambra traces back to 1968, when the maison first translated the quatrefoil into gold. This piece carries five of those motifs, each cut from black onyx and framed by a border of beaded 18K yellow gold — the detail that gives Alhambra its quiet glow under almost any light. Onyx reads as a true, even black, so it pairs with everything. Jeans on a Saturday. A dinner that asks for a little more.

It wears at 7.5 inches — the everyday length the maison built this model around — and it moves the way a good bracelet should. Supple. Light. Never fussy.

Each Van Cleef piece passes through our own hands before it joins the collection. We study the gold, the onyx, the architecture of every motif, the precision of the clasp. Only pieces that meet the maison's standard earn a place here — and this one does.

Accompanied with certificate and travel pouch.

Van Cleef and Arpels Backstory

Van Cleef & Arpels was founded in Paris in 1906 by Alfred Van Cleef and the Arpels brothers — Charles, Julien, and Louis — sons of jeweler Salomon Arpels. The maison's Place Vendôme address remains its headquarters more than a century later.

In 1933, Van Cleef & Arpels patented the Mystery Set, an invisible setting technique in which precious stones are mounted with no visible prongs or metalwork between them. The technique requires hundreds of hours per piece and is still used today on the maison's most important high jewelry.

Across collections like Alhambra, Perlée, and Frivole, Van Cleef & Arpels remains one of the most distinctive voices in twentieth-century French jewelry.
