About the program

In 2018, Opulent Jewelers offered a one-time $1,000 scholarship to an undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university. The award was intended to support a student exploring the future of online marketing — a topic central to how independent jewelry retailers like Opulent Jewelers were adapting to a rapidly changing retail landscape.

Applicants submitted a 1,000-word essay responding to three prompts about customer engagement, the role of social media in retail, and the influence of advertising on personal purchasing decisions. The application window closed on August 15, 2018, and the recipient was selected and notified later that month.
